Garage to Home Office Conversions
If you work from home two or more days a week, a dedicated office is the conversion you will feel every day. It closes the door on work at the end of the day and gives the rest of the house back.
The wiring is planned around how you work: sockets where the desk goes, wired data back to the router, and lighting that is good enough for video calls.

What's included
- Insulated, plastered and decorated room
- Sockets and USB points planned around the desk
- Wired network point back to the router
- Good task and ceiling lighting for screens and calls
- Window placed for daylight without screen glare
Every quote is itemised, so you can see the cost of each part. See the cost guide for typical prices.
Worth knowing
- Sound
- If the office shares a wall with the living room or sits under a bedroom, acoustic insulation in the stud walls and ceiling is a small extra that makes a large difference.
- Heating
- An office is used in short bursts. Extending the central heating suits some houses; electric panel heaters or a small air-to-air unit suit others. We price both if it is close.
Home office: questions
Can I keep half the garage for storage?
Yes. A partial conversion with an insulated stud wall across the middle is common, and keeps somewhere for bikes and tools.
Other conversions
Bedroom and en suite, Annexe for family, Kitchen knock-through, Playroom or family room, Home gym
